A pavillion twisted from a simple box to follow the site’s slope. The pavilion bends at a major path intersection with three defined zones; an accessible entrance, amphitheater-style seating, and a public bathroom. Its open, sunlit form becomes a natural extension of the landscape.

A study of the home as an architectural instrument, designed for an ecologist conducting research on old growth trees in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. The building adopts the operative program of a telescope; receiving, focusing, and refining information, translating this into spatial form.
